Apply for Smart ID cards online
Citizens can now apply for Smart ID cards online.
NATIONAL NEWS - South Africans can now apply for a Smart ID online.

This Department of Home Affairs initiative, is made possible by the four major banks ABSA, FNB, Standard Bank and Nedbank.

To apply for their Smart ID cards or passports, citizens must go to the Home Affairs kiosks at these banks and produce photos. Their fingerprints will then be taken.
 
An appointment needs to be made.

The application is completed online including payments.

Citizens will be able to:
* Upload supporting documents
* Make online payments
