NATIONAL NEWS - A DA councillor in Cape Town has handed herself over at the Altantis police station in connection with the alleged diversion of Covid-19 relief funds and food parcels.
The allegations were raised by Good party member Brett Herron last month, which were denied by the city of Cape Town.
“Allegations that these funds were used for purposes other than food relief are false and blatant political opportunism. Grant-in-aid funding is fully audited and strictly administered by an open and transparent process by the city’s urban management directorate,” the city said.
