MOTORING NEWS - From the freezing Arctic Circle to the dust and heat of Dubai, the Jaguar E-Pace has been subjected to diverse testing programmes, ensuring it is not only a driver's car but a competent SUV too.
Jaguar ensured that E-Pace worked on all surfaces and in all weathers. More than 150 prototypes were built during a gruelling 25-month test programme that took place across four continents.
From the demanding Nürburgring circuit to the deserts of the Middle East, E-Pace had to prove itself. In the process, the engineers braved a -40ºC temperature at the Arctic Circle as well as the high altitudes and rivers of China's most remote provinces.
"Our team of world-class engineers and dynamics specialists have meticulously tuned and developed a true Jaguar," said Graham Wilkins, chief product engineer, Jaguar E-Pace.
"Months of intense testing on roads and tracks around the world have delivered a compact performance SUV that is true to Jaguar's performance heritage."
Facts from the E-Pace test programme:
Coldest temperature: -40°C
Hottest temperature: +48°C
More than 400 laps round the Nürburgring
5 000 feet above sea level altitude testing
More than 120 000 hours of testing, involving more than 500 engineers
