KNYSNA NEWS - A 42-year-old woman was stabbed several times in her home in Rawson Street, in the Knysna town centre, at about 00:10 today, Sunday 27 April, and was robbed by her assailant.
Sergeant Chris Spies, police spokesperson for the Southern Cape, said that prior to being attacked, the woman had apparently been outside her home. When she went inside she discovered a man in the bathroom.
The man stabbed her several times with a knife, after which the woman managed to flee and she alerted neighbours, who contacted the police.
Spies said man, who was still at large, took the woman's Hi-Tech bomber jacket, black Samsung cellphone with a red rubber cover and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The woman, who had been stabbed three times in the back, was rushed to a medical facility.
Spies said the investigating officer, Sergeant Joslyn Williams of the Knysna Police detective unit, has urged anyone with information which could lead to the arrest of the assailant to provide it to her.
