KNYSNA NEWS - It was fun and joy for the Greater Knysna’s senior citizens as they gathered to participate in the annual Golden Games in Loerie Park on Wednesday 18 June.
These people came from places such as Vermont, Masibonisane and Ithemba service centres.
Traditional favourite games like the duck walk, dress-up races, passing the ball, a 500m brisk walk, rugby ball throw, jukskei and goal shooting kept the spirits high and friendly rivalries alive. The camaraderie and determination on display were truly inspiring.
The elders participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their competitive spirit and sense of fun.
A special thanks was given to Knysna’s deputy mayor, Morton Gericke, who joined the festivities, and bravely took on some of the seasoned participants.
