Update
KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna-Plett Herald contacted the Knysna Municipality earlier today, 31 December, regarding the backlog at the Waste Transfer Station.
The feedback received was as follows:
"Our teams collected loose bags in Thesen Island, and the residents brought their bins to the Waste Transfer Station amid the challenges at the station. The waste transfer station is now operational, with the mechanical failures on the conveyor belt having been rectified last week Friday.
Brenton-On-Sea will be collected with Lake Brenton.
We anticipate that the backlog will be cleared by next week. The following week, our teams will revert to the normal refuse collection schedule."
Numerous queries was received on social media about the backlog at the Waste Transfer Station.
