GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - Spearheaded by the Garden Route District Municipality Council (GRDM) and private sector partners, the Royal Garden Route outreach initiative, aimed at connecting with the regional hospitality industry, ended on a high note on Sunday in Mossel Bay.
In a series of events and meetings, councillors and interested and effected parties in the hospitality industry met up with some forty business managers and owners throughout the Garden Route, following a tourist-friendly route called the Blue Sky Route (see Blue Sky Route on Facebook).
The Garden Route is set to experience a bumper festive season following two years of hardship as a result of national lockdown regulations, which had a devastating effect on the viability of the regional tourism value chain.
The Garden Route is determined to become a world-renowned standalone destination, and the value proposition it offers in terms of its remarkable natural scenery, hospitality infrastructure and high standard of services has created a platform for growth.
Royal Garden Route was spearheaded by GRDM councillors Cobus Meiring and Coenraad Swart, with support gratefully received from sponsors in the regional private sector.
