KNYSNA NEWS - The National Funeral Directors' Association of Southern Africa (NFDA) will mark 76 years of service to the funeral industry with its annual conference in Knysna.
The event, which will start at 09:00 on 11 November at the Villa Castollini, will bring together industry professionals, stakeholders and leaders.
The NFDA is committed to uniting the funeral industry, supporting cultural and religious diversity, and promoting professionalism and ethical standards across the sector. The association's mission is to serve the nation with compassion and respect, ensuring high-quality services for all families.
"Our goal has always been to uplift the standards within the funeral profession while promoting unity, professionalism, and ethical conduct," said a spokesperson for the NFDA.
All members follow a strict code of conduct and publicly display their membership certificates, assuring families of the professionalism and ethical service they can expect.
Beyond supporting its members, the NFDA plays a key role in educating the public on funeral services and aftercare. It also mediates disputes among its members and works closely with government departments such as Health, Labour, and Home Affairs to stay informed on new regulations and industry best practices.
Since the 1990s, the NFDA has collaborated with other associations to address challenges in the sector. The association is also a founding member of the Funeral Federation of South Africa (FFSA).
