PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The top three political officials in the Bitou council's ruling alliance, consisting of the DA, the AUF and PDC, will be getting new wheels that will cost ratepayers approximately R2m.
They are Mayor Dave Swart, Deputy Mayor Mavis Busakwe and Speaker Claude Terblanche.
The draft budget listing the item was approved at a council meeting on Monday 29 May and the Plett Ratepayers have called on the Minister of the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Thembisile Nkadimeng, to take steps to "pull the Bitou Council into line" in the face of pending legal action by the Ratepayers.
