KNYSNA NEWS - It is business as usual at the Knysna Tourism Information office in Main Road.
Knysna Municipality has taken over the management of the office until the tender for the tourism management and marketing function of the greater Knysna area has been allocated.
To ensure continuity, the municipality took over some of the staff who worked for Wesgro. The team that make up Visit Knysna, and their duties, are as follows:
Hanlie de Villiers - Finance, HR and office-coordinator
- Assisting visitors to the centre,
- All administrative management matters,
- Trade enquiries and educationals,
- Media hosting
- Collaborative marketing opportunities.
Thozeka Sikali - Tourism information officer
- Liaising with visitors to the tourism office
- Statistics and reporting
- Sourcing, coordinating and display of relevant brochures
- Database maintenance
- Facilitating visitor bookings for the visitors and operators in Knysna and surrounds
- Stakeholder relations/engagements
- Assisting with product information for website/social media pages
- Trade and consumer shows
- Managing the craft exhibition
Keagon Borchards - website and social media coordinator and marketing assistant
- Maintaining and generating content for the Visit Knysna social media platforms
- Maintaining the events calendar
- IT and AV experience
- Website updates and maintenance
- Outdoor advertising (billboards and event panels)
- Assist with the effective project coordination of all components of the marketing plan.
