KNYSNA NEWS - A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack on a woman at her home in Rawson Street, Knysna, late on Saturday 26 April.
The woman (42) was stabbed repeatedly before she managed to flee from her attacker.
In the street, she encountered patrolling security guards who called an ambulance and police to the scene.
The woman, who was stabbed in the arm, chest and back, was taken to Knysna Provincial Hospital.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies said in a statement today, Wednesday 14 May, that an investigation had led to the arrest of the man on 10 May.
He appeared in the Knysna Magistrate's Court on 12 May, and the matter was postponed to 19 May for a formal bail application. The accused was remanded in custody.
Spies said some of the items that were taken from the woman's home were allegedly found when the suspect was arrested.
In an earlier statement, Spies said the assailant had robbed the woman of her Hi-Tec bomber jacket, black Samsung cellphone with a red rubber cover and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Spies said today that an investigation into the attack and robbery was continuing.
