REGIONAL NEWS - Countless little kiddies today took the bravest step of their young lives, by donning a school uniform and going to the 'big school' for the first time as a Grade 1 learner.
The step from Grade R to Grade 1 is always one of the biggest steps a child takes in their schooling journey. It opens them up to a whole new world, a big wide world filled with endless opportunities.
Today, 17 January, marked the turn for this year's little ones to take this big step and start the next chapter of their lives.

It would have undoubtedly been tough to let go for both parents and kids alike, but parents can rest assured that their kiddies are in good hands for their first year of school.
To the young ones who started Grade 1 today, we wish you the best of luck, but we know you won't need it because you're all rockstars! To the parents, your child is a star and will shine bright in a way that only they can.
