KNYSNA NEWS - The first-ever Knysna Heroes Youth Empowerment Festival, hosted by Knysna Unite at the Knysna Golf Club on Sunday 14 September, has been hailed as a resounding success.
The event brought together learners from local schools for an unforgettable day of learning, mentorship and inspiration.
Designed to equip young people with both motivation and practical insight, the festival connected the learners directly with respected professionals from the golfing world, who generously shared their personal journeys, life lessons and professional skills.
Key highlights of the day:
Learners interacted with top golf professionals, including Meyer du Toit, PGA pro and general manager of the Knysna Golf Club, Chris Dixon, PGA pro, Knysna Golf Club, Matthew Bird, PGA pro and golf director, Simola Golf Club, and Stephen Harker, PGA pro and coach, Scratch Golf.
Interactive sessions offered hands-on experience, practical advice and encouragement to chase goals.
Ralph Stander of Knysna Unite expressed pride in the festival's outcome. "Seeing learners walk away inspired is exactly what we envisioned. This marks the beginning of a long-term commitment to youth empowerment in Knysna.
