A five-day-long unique literary “experience,” the Knysna Literary Festival offers attendees a diverse programme that includes small-group workshops, larger-group presentations, informal chats with authors and the opportunity to experience some of Knysna’s most exclusive private properties with a dash of cuisine.
A few of this year's programme highlights include:
March 19: Human rights activist and top musician turned inspirational speaker, PJ Powers will talk about her incredible journey through life captured in her recently released book “Here I Am,” written with Marianne Thamm.
March 20: Reflect on the "Fate of the Nation" with the popular Political Panel Discussion. Join investigative journalist and author Mandy Weiner for a panel discussion with Tony Leon, author of “Opposite Mandela” and Khaya Dlanga, author of “The Youngsters,” about the current political climate.
March 20: Taste the Delicious Word Journey at Pezula Private Estate. A sell out event every year. Experience three of Knysna’s most exclusive private properties, top food and wine, and chat to well-known authors.
March 21: Participate in a Small Group Chat with Shani Krebs, Author of "Dragons & Butterflies". Hear autobiographic author and convicted heroin trafficker Shani Krebs tell the fascinating story of his life, from the party scene of Johannesburg to 18 years spent in a Thai prison, and his miraculous recovery.
March 22: Get your game on with Jonathan Kaplan, author of "Call It Like It Is". International rugby referee Jonathan Kaplan describes exactly what it takes to be an international rugby referee: his climb to the top, the sacrifices he made to get there, his struggle with rugby management, and much more.
The festival takes place at various venues around Knysna, and ticket prices vary by event.
Ticket sales open on February 2, 2015 at the Pam Golding Properties Knysna office, located at 5 Gray Street.
