KNYSNA NEWS - Greater Knysna celebrates South African Library Week under the theme “Libraries Heart of the Community.”
Members of the public are invited by the Knysna municipality to participate in various programmes and activities during this fun-filled week.
Library week started on 19 March and runs until 25 March with programmes aimed to educate, inspire and reaffirm the role of libraries in an increasingly digital environment.
First on their programme was Meet the Author and Joan Frielick talked her audience through her book Over the Rainbow, a book about reflection on loss.
Frielick said, “After big loss of my husband 16 years ago, I thought writing about my journey would help someone else going through the same.”
Well-known and loved Knysna local Mrs Margaret Parkes, who has been very involved in the library for many years attended.
Members of the public are invited by the Knysna municipality to participate in a various programmes and activities during this fun-filled week.
“I lost my husband 36 years ago and I’m sure anyone who has suffered a loss can relate to the author. It’s always advised that people should find something positive to do after their loss and I am glad Joan found her writing.”
All proceeds from the sale of the book go to Hospice Knysna and Sedgefield.
