KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna Film Festival has issued an updated programme for the festival with a few changes to the industry programme while the schedule for film screenings remains the same.
The very first Knysna Film Festival will get under way on Tuesday 29 October, with a screening of the latest film adaptation of Fiela se Kind directed by Brett Michael-Innes, which was released in theatres last month.
The festival's premiere of the film will take place at Premier Resort Hotel The Moorings, with the screening of Fiela se Kind to begin at 18:30 (you can grab your tickets online through Computicket).
Thereafter there will be four days of non-stop cinematic euphoria, as there will be 47 films screened at 11 locations spread across three precincts right around Knysna. The first precinct will consist of four locations at the Waterfront, the second will be made up of five locations around Thesen Island Harbour Town, with the third comprised of two theatres at Premier Resort The Moorings.
Of the 47 films, 39 will be competing in the competition, with the eight not in competition including the four open-air theatre screenings, opening night film, and three others to be screened during the course of the festival.
The competition will run throughout the entirety of the festival, ending with the awards gala on Saturday 2 November once again at Premier Resort Hotel The Moorings beginning at 18:30.
