KNYSNA NEWS - On Thursday 7 December, the Greater Knysna Business Forum held its annual general meeting (AGM) in the industrial area. The event served as a platform to unite the business community, shed light on the forum's committees and subcommittees, and outline their plans for the future.
In 2023, the business forum took significant strides by establishing the Investment Committee, the Knysna Skills and Education Committee, and the NPO and Churches subcommittees.
The AGM attracted members from all sectors of the business community. By bringing together diverse voices, the forum created an environment conducive to collaboration and cooperation, with the goal of driving positive change for the broader community.
"We are excited to move ahead with the Investment Committee in the New Year," says Dries van Rooyen, co-chairperson of the Investment Committee.
"As an additional committee, the Investment Committee will provide infrastructure and partnership between a number of role players.
"We are working closely with not only Knysna but the broader Garden Route region to help drive investment, create new jobs and nurture skills."
The forum aims bridge the gap between the formal and informal sectors to create opportunities for all businesses, regardless of their scale or nature.
This inclusive approach recognises that diverse perspectives and contributions are essential for sustainable and equitable development.
The meeting concluded successfully with all stakeholders making a commitment to continue to encourage collaboration and aspire towards a vibrant business ecosystem that uplifts the entire community.
