PLETTENBERG BAY NEWSFLASH - More than 30 Plettenberg Bay residents, including some prominent locals, dashed down Central beach in some interesting outfits early on Friday 1 September to raise funds for the Plettenberg Bay Crime Prevention Association (PBCPA).
How the fundraiser worked was that any resident, visitor or group could sponsor a PBCPA member or nominate a local by depositing R1 000 into the PBCPA’s bank account.
They then had the power to dictate the person’s dress code for the event, which involved running into the ocean at sunrise.
At 06:00 when the event started, a unicorn, a pregnant Barbie, Borat, a dinosaur, a few fairies and several superheroes had showed up to take on the swim.
