KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA:
THEFT OUT M.V. - REMEMBRANCE DR (Thurs 19 April @ 15h00) – Allsound Officer spotted a known suspect carrying a handbag. He stopped and searched the man and found him in possession of what was believed was a stolen cellphone and sunglasses. Items were traced to a motorist whose vehicle was broken into near the waterfront. Suspect was handed over to SAPS and charged with Theft out Motor Vehicle.
SHOPLIFTING - NELSON ST (Thurs 19 April @ 17h34) – Client activated the panic after suspect grabbed items out the shop and fled. Area was searched but suspect was not found.
SHOPLIFTING - LONG ST (Fri 20 April @ 16h51) - Client phoned to report that a man ran past their shop being pursued by someone. SAPS were on scene and suspect was apprehended by SAPS and found in possession of several shoplifted items.
BURGLARY - MAIN ST (Fri 20 April @ 19h09) - Resident stopped our Duty Manager to report that they had a break-in at their flat during the day. Entry was gained via open bathroom window. Clothing and a ring were reported missing. SAPS were notified.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - MAIN ST (Fri 20 April @ 20h35) - Officers responded to alarm at premises and saw 2 suspects running from the property. Two Allsound Officers apprehended both suspects. Client was notified and a case was opened. Both suspects were handed over to SAPS.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN ST (Sat 21 April @ 12h40) - Allsound Guard requested assistance after suspect was apprehended for shoplifting. Stolen items were recovered and suspect was handed over to SAPS.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN ST (Sat 21 April @ 13h46) - Client pressed the panic alarm after suspect stole items from the store and fled. Clothing description was provided, suspect not found.
BURGLARY - GORDON ST (Mon 23 April @ 07h45) - Client phoned to report a break-in at the flat next door. Suspect entered open window on 2nd floor flat while residents were sleeping. Two phones and a ring were reported missing. SAPS were notified.
THEFT - HILL ST (Mon 23 April @ 09h53) - Client reported that her security gate was removed from the front door sometime the previous day. No access was gained to property. No case was opened.
THEFT - VOORTREKKER ST (Mon 23 April @ 12h11) - Lady phoned our Control Room to report that suspects were stealing scrap metal from burnt-out property. Officers responded. Suspects dropped the scrap metal and fled into nearby bushes. No case was opened.
THEFT - GRAY ST (Tues 24 April @ 04h50) - Allsound guard reported shoes missing from shop display window. Keyholder was notified. Suspect pulled items through a hole existing from a previous break-in.
BURGLARY - TIDE ST (Tues 24 April @ 05h30) - Resident requested assistance after finding suspect inside the house. Entry was gained via sliding door. Suspect fled empty-handed.
BURGLARY - TROTTER ST (Tues 24 April @ 07h36) - Client reported a break-in at their flat. Access was gained via open window on the deck. A wallet and cellphone were reported missing. SAPS were notified.
KNYSNA HEIGHTS/ PARADISE / HEUWELKRUIN:
BURGLARY - CIRCULAR DR (Fri 20 April @ 05h41) - Resident telephoned for assistance to break-in at the property. Suspect gained access via open bedroom window. Suspect fled when he was disturbed by the owner. A handbag was also reported missing from the vehicle.
SALT RIVER / GREEN PASTURES / BLARICUM
BURGLARY - SALT RIVER RD (Sat 21 April @ 20h38) - Resident requested assistance after arriving home to a break-in. Front door was forced open, cash, takkies and a torch were reported missing. SAPS were informed.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
BURGLARY - DAVIDSON ST (Fri 20 April @ 08h55) – Client telephoned to report a break-in at their business premises. Suspects entered through next door premises and then into the roof. Alcohol was reported missing. Case was opened with SAPS.
THEFT - SORIA ST (Sun 22 April @ 18h11) - Client reported that a suspect entered his house while he was busy in the garden. Fishing equipment and a cellphone were stolen. No description of suspect was available.
BURGLARY - DAVIDSON ST (Wed 25 April @ 00h46) - Knysna SAPS telephoned our Control Room to report that they were notified of a break-in in progress. Suspect entered via roof of building and cut hole in ceiling. Keyholder confirmed some alcohol was missing from the store.
THE HEADS
THEFT - CATHERINE ST (Mon 23 April @ 14h19) - Client telephoned requesting assistance after his gardener's cellphone was stolen from the property by an unknown man. The gardener chased the suspect and retrieved his phone. No case was opened.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - CONEY GLEN DR (Mon 23 April @ 15h28) - Officer responded to alarm and found that a downstairs door was forced open and force marks also evident on an upstairs door. Keyholder was notified and it was confirmed that nothing was missing. SAPS were notified.
