KNYSNA NEWS - On 8 September, 16 Eco Club learners from Sunridge Primary School participated in an exciting excursion to the Knysna Elephant Park. The trip was facilitated by Michael Spies and the children were accompanied by Sunridge teachers.
The students had the opportunity to observe elephants in their natural habitat and learn about their behaviour, diet, and the challenges they face due to habitat loss and poaching.
They witnessed the beauty and vulnerability of these magnificent creatures and gained a deeper understanding of the importance of protecting our natural heritage.
Both learners and teachers absorbed a wealth of knowledge about the park's history, the backgrounds of the five remaining elephants, and the importance of caring for and respecting these magnificent animals.
The lessons learned from the excursion have undoubtedly instilled a deeper appreciation for wildlife and conservation efforts in the learners.
