GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - An inquest docket has been opened after the body of a man was discovered on the beach at Swartvlei near Sedgefield in the early hours of Saturday morning, 4 April.
According to police, the body was found at about 00:30 on 4 April.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Warrant Officer Chris Spies, preliminary information indicates that a fisherman was walking along the beach when he came across the body at the water’s edge.
Emergency personnel were called to the scene, and the body was later recovered by police divers.
The identity of the deceased still has to be confirmed.
Knysna detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
