“We know the court has to look at certain guidelines when a decision is reached to release an accused on bail, but it is shocking that someone who seemingly admitted to child rape is freed,” Woman and Men Against Child Abuse (WMACA) spokesman Joanne Barrett said.
The elderly accused appeared in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate’s Court on Monday, February 22, 2016 for a formal bail application.
This after the man abandoned his bail bid last month after indicating that he could not afford to pay bail.
