KNYSNA NEWS - If you will be voting in next week's Ward 5 by-elections, and you're not sure where you'll be able to make your mark on the ballot sheet, here is the list of the relevant voting stations.
Ever since now-member of parliament Eleanore Bouw-Spies left Knysna Municipality, giving up her seat as Ward 5 councillor, one of Knysna's largest wards has been without a representative in council.
This will all change next week however, when the municipal by-elections are held, and when residents can choose a new councillor from one the following candidates: Susan Campbell – Knysna Independent Movement (KIM); Carol Williams – ANC; Alberto Marbi – Plaaslike Besorgde Inwoners (PBI); Hilton Stroebel – DA; and Anthony Norman Freeman – EFF.
Ward 5 will coincidentally have five voting stations where you can cast your vote for one of the five candidates, making next week's by-elections a real game of fives. The voting stations are as follows:
- Belvidere Anglican Church – Corner Church and Queen Street, Belvidere Estate
- Brenton Council Offices – 252 CR Swart Drive, Brenton-On-Sea
- Rheenendal Community Centre – Hoof Street, Rheenendal
- Buffelsbay Dutch Reformed Church – Sand Street, Buffels Bay
- Quinta de Montanha – Portion 8, Farm 185, Leeuwenbosch, Rheenendal
