KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna Council appointed ACDP Councillor Patrick Makhetha as the new Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) chairperson during a virtual special council meeting today, Wednesday 10 February.
Makhetha is taking over the reins from DA Councillor Michelle Wasserman, who was appointed as MPAC chair after the resignation of former ACDP Councillor Ian Uys in October last year.
Makhetha confirmed his appointment as the MPAC chair on Tuesday.
“ACDP will be handling the portfolio of MPAC and I have been appointed as the chairperson,” he said.
Makhetha said he has also been appointed by the ACDP Western Cape provincial executive committee (PEC) as interim regional chairperson of the Garden Route.
