PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - More than 23 households have been left homeless after a fire that broke out in the Qolweni Informal Settlement yesterday.
Gift of the Givers’ Mario Ferreira says fortunately no injuries have been reported, but more than 50 people have lost all their belongings.
Gift of the Givers teams are providing humanitarian assistance to affected residents, including emergency supplies and support.
They have delivered blankets and hot meals, and will continue to assist the families throughout the next few days.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
Ferreira appealed to those who want to make donations to approach reputable organisations like the Gift of the Givers, whose aid efforts are audited.
