KNYSNA NEWS - Ahead of Anti-Racism Week from 14 to 21 March, the Anti-Racism Network SA has called on the public to #UniteAgainstRacism.
Journalist Nwabisa Pondoyi asked locals to weigh in on the topic and find out whether they knew about the week and while many shied away from the topic, some were not even comfortable having their photos taken.

Lauren and brother Kyle Dixon: "I didn't know about Anti-Racism Week but I do know racism exists because I see it everywhere I go. It's mostly brought up because some people refuse to embrace the fact that people are different. The day different races and cultures open themselves up to fully and truly embrace each other is the day we will bury racism."
Charlene Roman: "Anti-racism week, is that even a thing? What people don't understand is that racism comes in all forms and it should never be accepted. Recently I experienced it and it was a black guy who called me derogatory names and that hurt. However, I do believe that if the media can inform us about campaigns like the Anti-Racism Week we can actually learn to tolerate each other and work together."
