KNYSNA NEWS - Three people from White Location in Knysna were arrested and charged with housebreaking, theft and possession of stolen property on Friday evening, 5 March, after Knysna police received information about a vehicle that left Buffalo Bay under suspicious circumstances earlier that evening.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Christopher Spies said the Knysna Crime Prevention Unit responded swiftly.
"The vehicle was later spotted near White Location where it was stopped by the police. After searching the bakkie, police proceeded to a house at Kubo Street in White Location," he said.
A search of the house resulted in the recovery of jewellery, footwear, clothing, a laptop, cellphones as well as an undisclosed amount of cash, with a total worth over R40 000.
"These items were stolen during burglaries at Buffalo Bay and Costa Sarda in Knysna earlier. The suspects, aged 20, 28 and 30, are facing charges of housebreaking and theft and possession of stolen property," said Spies.
The three suspects will make their court appearances once charged.
Acting Eden Cluster Commander, Brig Belinda Pather, commended the officials for their vigilance in bringing the perpetrators to book.
