Their Officer Commanding, Lt Commander Steve Eriksen (SCC) and his wife, drove to Saldanha Bay with family members to attend this big day in their lives. They witnessed an impeccable parade with over 240 young men and women march before the deputy chief of the Navy.
After prize giving, the young seamen and women presented a choir performance, a mast raising display, a 'gun run' and a precision drill display. After lunch, friends, parents and relatives dispersed, while the young people having completed their basic training prepared for departure to join the fleet in Simons Town the next day.
