PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Bitou Municipality has called on the public to register for the annual SA Revenue Protection Association (Sarpa) convention, which will be hosted in Plettenberg Bay later this year.
Municipal spokesperson Manfred van Rooyen said registration for the 23rd annual convention is now open.
"Every year more and more municipal managers, chief financial officers, councillors, electrical, civil, and water engineers, police, international utilities and state utilities attend the Sarpa Convention on the basis that it is the only forum in Africa that focuses on a holistic approach to securing the income of your council or utility for services provided to the public as well as the minimising of nontechnical losses and prevention of infrastructure theft and vandalism," Van Rooyen said.
The theme for this year's convention is "Operating in a dark revenue protection environment with diminished cash flow – in the light of scarce resources".
Any interested party that wants to register for the convention, or exhibit or sponsor the event, can obtain more details by phoning 011 061 5000, e-mailing sarpaservices@vdw.co.za or visiting www.sarpa.co.za.
The convention will be hosted on 22 and 23 August at the Piesang Valley hall in Plettenberg Bay.
