PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - This town will once again become a hub of creativity when the Plett Arts Festival returns from 25 September to 4 October, bringing 10 days of art, music, workshops and community activities.

This year's festival theme, 'Connect in Plett', focuses on the relationship between creativity, nature and community, and the events will take place at venues and outdoor spaces across the town.

The festival will showcase local and regional artists while highlighting the connection between art, environmental awareness and community well-being.

Among the highlights is the Plett Land Art Route, for which artists will create temporary, environmentally conscious sculptures along beaches, estuaries and forest trails. The natural surroundings will form part of the artworks, with the tide and landscape influencing their creation.

The Plett Twilight Meander will bring an evening programme of galleries, pop-up studios and live performances to Main Street, allowing visitors to experience local creativity while enjoying the atmosphere of the town after dark.

Visitors can also take part in a variety of hands-on workshops for painting, pottery, floral design and children's art. Exhibitions at local galleries will showcase the diversity of the region's artists.

Music and culinary experiences will also form part of the programme, including Music with Mitchell Debut, a collaboration between Janey Mitchell and the Breezin' Band. Other events include art and dinner at Nguni Restaurant and wine tastings and canapés at Barrington's.

The festival's organisers say the programme is designed to offer something for everyone, from those seeking a quiet experience in nature to visitors wanting to learn a new creative skill or enjoy local food, art and entertainment.

The festival will take place at various outdoor sites, galleries and venues across Plettenberg Bay.
