PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Plettenberg Bay police are calling on the public to assist with finding the family of a man whose body was discovered in a river in Wittedrift on the outskirts of the town over the festive season.
Police spokesperson Captain Marlene Pieterse said the man’s body was found in the Bitou River at 08:20 on 26 December 2018.
“The deceased was dressed in a navy T-shirt, beige shorts, a black, grey, blue and white belt and black shoes. The man had short dreadlocks,” Pieterse said.
She added that by the time the body was discovered, it had decomposed to such an extent that the man could not be identified. An inquest docket was opened.
“We are appealing to the public to come forward with any information that may assist or help trace the deceased’s family.”
