Update
PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Seven months after he disappeared in Wittedrift in Plettenberg Bay, 66-year-old Deon Kampher is yet to be found, with his family still hoping for his safe return.
Kampher lives with his son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren in Hornlee. On Friday 7 August 2020, his son Fanus Leo took him to see family in Wittedrift.
Around midday on Saturday 8 August, Leo's father went for a walk and never returned. A week after his disappearance, Kampher's family stumbled across their first lead when a farmer in the area told them Kampher was seen "walking along the dirt road towards the N2", according to Leo.
At the time of his disappearance Kampher was clothed in denim jeans, a black T-shirt and brown jacket.
"There's been no news about my father, everything is so quiet," Leo said. Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies confirmed their search for Kampher continues.
"Plettenberg Bay police is urging anyone with information that could assist with the safe return of the missing person to come forward.
"The public may contact the investigation officer, Sergeant Lakho Nkoloti, at the Plettenberg Bay Detectives on 044 501 1908 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111."
