KNYSNA NEWS - Acting Knysna Municipal Manager Dawid Adonis announced that local library services will assist residents aged 60 and above to register to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.
In a statement on Friday, Adonis said they are aware that many senior residents may have difficulty in registering for the Covid-19 vaccine for a number of reasons.
“Those who require assistance to register for this lifesaving vaccine may visit any of our local libraries. The process does not take much time and residents only need to bring their ID documents along,” he said.
Registration at libraries began on 20 May and takes place between 10:00 and 16:00.
Other ways in which you can register include:
- Visiting http://westerncape.gov.za and click the link to register
- Dial *134*832# from any SA network for free, or
- WhatsApp the word REGISTER to 0600 123456
“Please remember to observe all Covid-19 prevention protocols when visiting our libraries and remember, even if you have received the vaccine, you still need to wash your hands regularly, avoid crowded spaces and maintain social distance,” Adonis said.
He urged all qualifying residents to register for this phase of vaccine roll-out.
“We ask residents who need help to do so, to make use of this service. Together we can flatten the curve. Together we can create an inclusive, innovative, inspired - and inoculated Knysna,” he said.
