KNYSNA NEWS - A 37-year-old man died on Friday night (6 March) when he was struck by a car on the N2 near Nekkies.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie, Knysna police have opened a culpable homicide docket for further investigation following an accident near Nekkies.
“Preliminary investigation reveals that the deceased, 37-year-old Simphiwe Ngquba, crossed the N2 near Nekkies at about 18:00 in front of oncoming traffic,” Pojie said.
“A car that was travelling towards Knysna hit the deceased, causing him to sustain multiple injuries. He was treated by paramedics on scene and thereafter transported to hospital by ambulance where he later succumbed to the injuries he sustained.”
He further stated that “the investigation is ongoing and an autopsy will be performed on the body of the deceased to determine the cause of death”.
No arrests have been made, and the docket will be submitted to the National Prosecuting Authority for a decision as soon as investigation is completed.
