KNYSNA NEWS - Eden Chess hosted the 2022 Eden Open, a tournament for all levels of play, from 22 to 24 April with players from as far afield as East London participating.
Knysna's own Eugeniel Jacobs participated in the C-section for juniors (born in 2010 and later).
This section played their five rounds of chess on Saturday 23 April.
Eugeniel, who is a learner at Fraaisig Primary School, did not hold back and won all five of his games, coming out tops in his section.
He has had a very successful year so far, qualifying for both the Eden and Western Cape schools chess trials.
The Western Cape School trials will happen on 27 to 29 May in the Cape Winelands District. The venue is yet to be confirmed.
