He briefly appeared in the George Regional Court on Monday, March 30, but the matter was postponed to April 28 for plea and trial.
The man was arrested on August 1 last year after a tip-off from the public. During a police search of his premises, the George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) confiscated his laptop and desktop computer to analyse it for pornographic material. Police found a video clip constituting child pornography.
The man, who cannot be named until he has pleaded, is currently out on R5 000 bail and denies the charges against him. In the meantime the man was also expelled from the South African Goju Ryu Karate-Do and Karate-Do International Renmei.
Since his arrest several complainants have come forward.
