KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
SHOPLIFTING - LONG ST (Thurs 17 May @ 18h10) – Officers responded to panic alarm. One suspect was apprehended on the property, but a 2nd got away with a bottle of alcohol. Suspect agreed to pay for the item. No case was opened and suspect was released.
THEFT - LONG ST (Fri 18 May @ 09h49) – Client requested assistance after guest reported that a large amount of cash was stolen from their room. No information available on possible suspect. SAPS were notified and case was opened for further investigation.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN ST (Sat 19 May @ 14h33) - Client phoned to report a shoplifting. Suspect fled and all the stolen goods were recovered. No case was opened.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - LEAGUE ST (Tues 22 May @ 09h34) - Officer responded to alarm and on arrival saw 3 suspects fleeing into the bushes. Force marks were found on the property and owner notified. No access was gained and nothing was reported missing.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
BURGLARY - GLADSTONE ST (Sat 19 May @ 07h01) – Officer responded to alarm and confirmed a break-in. Window was forced only. Keyholder confirmed only thing visibly missing was the passive from the wall. No case was opened.
COMMON ROBBERY - N2 NEKKIES (Mon 21 May @ 08h27) - Lady telephoned to report that 2 suspects were seen robbing a lady next to the N2. Clothing description was provided to SAPS. Suspects were not found.
HUNTERS HOME / REXFORD / FISHER HAVEN
BURGLARY - HOWARD ST (Fri 18 May @ 13h18) - Client phoned to report that their computer and monitor were stolen. No forced entry was found. SAPS were notified and case was opened.
BELVIDERE / PHANTOM RIVER
THEFT - FARM UITZICHT (Thurs 17 May @ 13h09) - Property owner reported that a solar panel and pump were stolen from outbuilding. Time of theft unknown.
BURGLARY - PHANTOM RIVER (Thurs 17 May @ 14h49) - Resident reported that his laptop, backpack, power bank and cellphone accessories were stolen sometime during the night or that morning. No forced entry was found. Owner opened a case with SAPS.
RHEENENDAL
THEFT - RHEENENDAL RD (Thurs 17 May @ 17h49) - Client telephoned to report that 2 x Orange gas cylinders, a water pump and extension lead were stolen from the property some time during the day. No case was opened.
