KNYSNA NEWS - The DA and the ACDP in Knysna are working together in order to secure the key posts of Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Speaker for the party in the Knysna municipal council.
An ACPD councillor will be MPAC Chair.
In a statement released by DA Western Cape Provincial Leader, Bonginkosi Madikizela, he announced that the ACDP will support the election of a DA Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Speaker at the first Council meeting in January 2021.
"The ACDP will not go into coalition with the DA but will remain in opposition and fill the position of MPAC Chairperson. The DA holds 10 of 21 seats in the Knysna Council. This is the highest number held by any one party in Knysna," Madikizela said. “We look forward to providing the stability that will enable Knysna to become the thriving town that we all want it to be.”
