The six Knysna NSRI volunteers who swam the Goukamma River to rescue a Dutch tourist from Drupkelders.
KNYSNA NEWS - The six Knysna NSRI volunteers who swam the Goukamma River to rescue a Dutch tourist from Drupkelders on Monday, November 10 are Donald Brink, Darren Berry, Marc Van Staden, Marck Cooper, Rein Hofmeyr, Declan Nurse and their station commander Jerome Simonis.

They had to swim up the river for approximately 1km and made a very careful return, manoeuvring their patient (suffering a spinal injury) in a Stokes basket past numerous waterfalls and through rocky terrain.
