GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Group Editors proudly introduces Artists Connect, an exciting new initiative aimed at supporting and growing the local art communities in the Garden Route.
Artists Connect forms part of the drive from Group Editors' new strategic marketing department to develop targeted community networks through which local businesses can be assisted and encouraged to grow.
Group Editors' involvement in the community spans over 140 years during which time the company has been a supporter of local businesses and residents across the Garden Route.
"This new drive is taking us to a new level of involvement that we hope will inspire fresh hope and confidence among businesses, especially in light of the dire consequences that Covid-19 lockdowns have had on the district economy," says Sharlee Moriarty, strategic marketing manager.
"Local artists are one of the least supported communities that could do with some love and assistance, and so we decided to launch our community projects with Artists Connect.
So far we have received an incredible response from our local art communities in the Garden Route, which has proven to us the need among these individuals and businesses for a helping hand."
Targeting professional artists
The project is targeted at local professional artists in the visual, music and performing arts to find innovative solutions that will help boost exposure and opportunities.
"We have some exciting things in the pipeline and we will be exploring new, brilliant technologies in fresh and exciting ways. We hope to pave the way forward for artists in South Africa," says Moriarty.
Artists Connect will offer artists the following solutions:
- Informative workshops that will teach artists how to build their brand and find new ways to sell their works.
- Art events that will help artists expose their work to more buyers and increase sales.
- Digital products that will open up a whole new world of opportunity.
- Local community channels that artists can learn from and through which they can assist other artists as well as gain support from their local community.
- Marketing solutions built specifically to strengthen and grow local artists.
Roll-out in 2022
These are some of the initiatives that will be rolled out from early 2022:
- Artist Spotlight campaign;
- Open Studio event;
- CryptoArt and NFTs;
- Local e-commerce platform;
- Shoulder-rubbing with some of the big names in the industry.
And there are many more inspiring ideas on the agenda for next year.
Support your local artists
"We encourage all local professional artists to get involved and our Garden Route community to support our local artists. We have discovered that there is a world of undiscovered, incredible local artistic talent here in the Garden Route and we are excited to be a part of their discovery and success."
