KNYSNA NEWS - Last week we published an article on page 10 under the headline “Council to incur more debt?” on page 10 of the Knysna-Plett Herald, where we mentioned that there was speculation that the municipality wants to remove the director of Planning and Development, Marlene Boyce, and that there was a plan initiated to do so.

The gist of the article referred to the proposed increased staff establishment which, according to the Knysna Ratepayers' Association, will double the debt of Knysna Municipality.

At the end of the article it was stated that a media enquiry sent to the municipality was not responded to at the time of going to press. 

The media enquiry being referred to was a question regarding Boyce and her relationship with the municipal manager. The municipality was not asked to comment on the issue of debt.
