KNYSNA NEWS - Three protest demonstrations were approved at the meeting on Wednesday, April 5 by the Knysna Municipality.
Information of marches from organisers is as follows:
There is a planned gathering at Memorial Square in Knysna on Friday from 10:00 to 12:00.
Organisers say, "Posters welcome, flags, groups young and old and every South African, NGOs, political parties, organisations in Greater Knysna. All are welcome as this is the time for ubuntu, to rise up for a better South Africa.
"Every citizen, every city, everyone that cares about our country, this is not a party political matter. It is a matter of urgent national importance, which affects all of us as South Africans, and thus transcends party politics. Bring your signs of protest to make our collective voices heard against Zuma.
"We will no longer be supporting corruption and the evil that has plagued our beautiful country; we will be joining a nationwide gathering in protest of Zuma.
"Regardless of race or political affiliation, we will stand up against Zuma and every single corrupt official. Together, South Africa will rise! # ZumaMustFall # SouthAfricaMustRise #NoConfideneinZuma.
Another gathering is planned in Sedgefield from 09:00 to 12:00 on Friday, April 7. Organiser Lisa Snow says, "We will convene at 09:00 in Sedgefield. There will be gazebos at the traffic lights, braais and general merriment. We will have a short march and generally make a spectacle of ourselves if possible. In a lovely way.
"We have just been donated the use of the Scarab market to meet on Thursday to make banners and meet each other.
We are all scrambling to make this happen in time. The final paperwork is being submitted to the municipality in the morning (will have been submitted). We want to send a very clear and positive message. That we stand for humanity.

Knysna priest invites community to protest
“It is time for the people to say we cannot tolerate the ANC any longer with their lies and corruption.”
So says, the priest for the Holy Trinity Anglican Church (based in Belvidere), Father Jerome Prins.

He feels so strongly about this that he has organised an approved protest in Knysna at the Red Bridge turn-off from 10:00 to 13:00 on Friday, April 7.
This will be a peaceful poster picket and Father Jerome invites the community to bring positive picket messages and flags.
“We want this to be a positive message from the people with posters like ‘power to the people’ and not be personal or defamatory,” says Father Jerome.
“What the ANC is doing to this country is affecting employers and employees. It is time to say the ANC cannot save the country anymore. It is time for the people to rise up and save it,” he says.
Father Jerome says he is encouraging people to unite and say that all should live in peace and prosperity and the only way to do this is to get rid of the ANC.
