KNYSNA NEWS - A “stand-in” Acting Municipal Manager (AMM) for Knysna was appointed after the newly appointed AMM, Dawie Adonis, tested positive for Covid-19.
On Monday 14 December, Phumla Makoma was appointed to take over as the AMM until further notice, while Adonis is recovering. Adonis was supposed to take over from former AMM Dr Louis Scheepers on 12 December.
Knysna Municipality spokesperson Christopher Bezuidenhoudt said in a statement on Monday that Adonis is recovering at home after he tested positive last week. “During an ordinary council meeting on 3 December 2020, Adonis was appointed as Acting Municipal Manager from 12 December 2020, for a period which does not exceed three months. Our thoughts are with him and his family. We wish them strength and a speedy recovery,” he said.
