This simple look can be added to with mosaics of different textures and colours like turquoise, red and orange that offer all sorts of design possibilities. Our customers are enjoying the option of dabbling in these accent colours and adventurously creating tiled surfaces full of colour and texture. Glass is still making a big impact and the variety still continues to grow.
Spacious look
As far as size is concerned the bigger, the better is still the way to go. It is uncomplicated and simple. The myth that one must use small tiles in small areas is but a myth. The truth is the bigger the tile, the less joint lines there are, giving a more spacious appearance. There does appear to be a return to smaller tiles where they are mainly used as accents or to change texture and lines. There are many variations of large tiles starting with 600x600mm and going up to 1200x600mm. They're beautiful and very practical. Because of the sheer size of these tiles and less grouting joints, maintenance is a breeze. Large tiles present beautifully on floors or as feature walls - inside and out.
Choosing between matt and gloss finishes, is really a personal choice. Gloss gives a ritzy touch reminiscent of some top class hotel foyer, and matt the earthy natural look. One can make very personal statements when selecting finishes today.
When choosing tiles rather choose the type of finish required and work back to the tile. Always remember words that start with "I", like idea, innovation and inspiration, they lead one on a path of adventure.
