The participants were from the communities under the Rural Development Programme of the Mossel Bay Municipality. This relates to the economic development model of the Comprehensive Rural Development Programme (CRDP) of how individuals will be organised into organisations and networks, in order to establish a credible business system per CRDP site.
The process further entails:
- Department of Agriculture and the DTI will return and assist the group in completing and submitting the formal registration documents;
- Assistance will be provided with the writing of the business plans, training and sourcing of funding;
- Co-operative will be mentored on an on-going basis via Casidra.
The Council of Stakeholder Chairs of Vleesbaai (Hennie Floors) and Ruiterbos (Clive Uithaler) attended the session.
