Joan Louwrens, well travelled doctor
Knysna doctor and co-founder of Knysna/Sedgefield Hospice, Joan Louwrens, has penned her second book, which is due to be released this week. A Wilder Life: Journey of an Adventuring Doctor chronicles the medicine woman's series of working forays across all seven continents and several islands in between. In the photo she is aboard her boat offloading onto an ice shelf in the Antarctic.
