Kema and Meyer were judged to be the 'Star Models' of the fun evening held at Knysna Primary School and organised by CPF PRO Cheryl Britz and SAPS communication officer, Constable Chris Spies.
The dazzling couple were crowned by the judges, Africa Vumazonke of Black & White Photography and Charmaine Kruger of Go South Models.
Britz explained that the aim was to bring together the Knysna CPF, Knysna SAPS and the different NGOs and the community.
"The show's aim is also to enhance relationships and strengthen partnerships as we all work together to fight crime and build a safer Knysna for all," she commented.
The models wore the latest summer fashions from Woolworths, Norseman Outfitters, Mr Price, Sammy D and Bester's Bridal. The models comprised of SAPS members, victim support officers, NGO representatives and members of the community who entertained the crowd throughout the evening as they took to the runway. The audience, remarked Britz, was obviously enjoying themselves and encouraging the models as they strutted their stuff, even on an unfamiliar platform - all in support of a good cause.
"All of the outfits were 'rocked' to their full potential by the models, each of whom had their own style of working the catwalk," says Britz. "And of course, every show is bound to have its special moments; the children proved that no matter what age, if you have the strut, you have it, to the delight of the audience."
The organisers thanked everyone involved in this team effort for making it such a great event.
"We need to say thanks to all the participants - the team of representatives from the Knysna CPF, SAPS , FAMSA , KADC and Rape Outcry worked hard to produce a high quality fashion show. Many thanks to Elle Photography, Action Ads and Knysna Primary School as well as all our sponsors who made it possible! Only by working together will we continue to make a difference. All in all, a great night, a good networking opportunity, stunning models, amazing clothes and a team of people that should be very proud of themselves for pulling off such a show."
The successful event was attended by approximately 200 people.
