NATIONAL NEWS - Two weeks of sweating it out in a kitchen is a long time, but for comedian Chris Forrest, it was well worth it when he was crowned South Africa’s first Celebrity MasterChef winner.
The final two contestants, singer Patricia Lewis and Forrest, cooked up a storm for the last time on 10 May, where they had to whip up a seafood dish. After an intense finale, Forest won the title thanks to his two point lead on Lewis.
Forrest earned a fantastic R185 000 for his charity of choice, Villa of Hope in Soweto. Lewis didn’t leave empty handed, but collected a total of R175 000 for her charity, Food and Trees for Africa, which is based in Wendywood.
