KNYSNA NEWS - South African motorsport is mourning the death of well-known racing driver Robert Wolk, who was shot and killed in Kempton Park on Wednesday, September 16.
Wolk was a familiar and much-loved figure at the annual Simola Hillclimb in Knysna, where he claimed his second Single Seater, Sports Car and Sports Prototype King of the Hill title in May this year.
Driving an Investchem Gould GR55, he posted a winning time of 35.024 seconds in the Top 10 Shootout.
Wolk's death leaves a profound void in South African motorsport and will be keenly felt by competitors, organisers and thousands of spectators who watched him compete at Simola and other circuits around the country.
