Not even the dreary weather could keep the over 60s down. The Knysna and Sedgefield teams emerged as the title holders.
The ladies' section trophy went to the team of Sedgefield Bowling Club consisting of Mimie Oosthuizen (skip), Crystal Barlow, Rosalie Joubert and Wendy Mack. They took the honours by beating Wendy Murray’s team of George Bowling Club in the final by 19 ends to 15.
In the men’s section Ted Coetzee (skip), Johan de Bruyn, Roger Williams and John Marr (Leisure Isle Bowling Club) had to fight until the last end to win their game by 21-19 against Aubrey Christie's team of Oudtshoorn Bowling Club.
On Saturday and Sunday, November 8 and 9, the Eden Bowls Loerie men, ladies and u/25 teams will play against Boland in Robertson. This tournament enables up-and-coming bowlers to participate at a higher level.
